This summer I was able to spend some time down with my family in Jacksonville,FL. While there, I had the honor of photographing this beautiful, intimate beach wedding at the Dunes on Big Talbot Island. What a spectacular place. I have basically spent most of my adult life in and out of Jacksonville and had never been here before-and it did not disappoint!! The trees on Big Talbot are amazing-the sunlight was gorgeous and the wedding was perfect. This couple got married with their closest family surrounding them while their little daughter played at their feet on the beach. Thanks so much for allowing me to photograph your day, Adam and Christine!!

I get asked all of the time If I had to choose just one thing to photograph what would it be. I’m pretty sure almost every single person who asks is shocked when I say it would be photographing births. It’s not for everyone-a lot of people aren’t comfortable with the idea of someone else being in the room when they are having a baby. I’m so grateful for the ones that are because its such an honor to be a part of it.

Every single time I’m honored to witness the event. Every single story is different. Every single birth presents its technical challenges. And that’s why I love it so much.

I’m grateful to the parents the allow me to be a part of such a special moment in their lives and even more grateful to the moms who allow me to share their story and pictures. I do protect my birth work. Even when I’m granted usage by my mommas, it’s still something that I feel like should be kept private and for that reason, my full birth photography gallery is password protected. If you are interested in birth photography, please get in touch! I’m here to tell you (three times over!!!)-the day and the moment will be lost on you. You have SO much going on and so many emotions to deal with that you should let someone else take this off your plate. Take it off of your partners plate. I promise you, it will be one of the most special photography investments you can ever make!!

Oh you senior girls and your crazy beauty, strength and confidence. This family was one of the first we met when we moved to Fayetteville all of those years ago. I taught this girl in 5th grade and now, she’s graduated high school. Where does the time go? Wishing one of my favorites of all time best wishes as she starts college next week! I can’t wait to see where this next 4 years takes you, A!!

One of the hardest parts about moving clear across the country is establishing myself again-its a battle we all face in this life and one that I welcome with every move. We have to reestablish ourselves both personally and professionally. The first wedding I was able to shoot after moving back couldn’t have been better. This couple was warm and they family and friends were incredibly welcoming. The hugs and kind words I received on the way out that evening reminded me about the good that came from these moves. Such a great way to start my wedding season in Fayetteville!
